Dong Bang Shin Gi’s Best Vocal Harmony Moments: 2004 - 2012
Dong Bang Shin Gi’s harmony characterizes and epitomizes them as a musical ensemble.
They create chords together, they move in parallel motion, they have different subsections of contrasting harmonies. Harmony is multi-faceted for them: all the members may simply sing as one, the harmony vocalists may sing in the forefront whilst another member melodic phrases beneath, the harmony vocalists may be there to solely support the main melodic lead line, it may be solely the harmony of a couplet, the harmony may be used as a call-and-response, the phrases in harmony may be interspersed beneath the song to embellish, the harmony may be quiescent and faint, the harmony may be heavy and vehement.
This is a compilation of the finest and most interesting moments of vocal harmony in Dong Bang Shin Gi’s musical repertoire, from 2004 to 2012. We hear them develop as so their individual timbres fold together in harmony, how they apply their harmony to different styles of music, and how the harmony shifts as the members change.
From five members to now a duet, it has always been the application to and refining of vocal harmony that characterizes and distinguishes Dong Bang Shin Gi as an exquisite vocal ensemble.
